What to Expect

  • Disclaimer: Marks can be discussed and chosen based on physical ability, however walking several kilometres throughout the day will generally be required .

    Standard Itinerary:

    1. Introduction to the gear and safety run-through.

    2. Make our way to first mark and fish for approximately three hours.

    3. Return to cars / food break.

    4. Make our way to the second mark and fish for approximately three further hours before returning.

    1. Mid-tier 9-9ft6” rod with casting rating up to 30-40g (i.e. Shimano Lunamis).

    2. Mid-tier 3000-4000 size Shimano fixed spool reel (i.e. Twinpower).

    3. All lures required for the trip.

    4. Lifejacket / buoyancy aid.

    5. Midge net.

    6. Bottles of water.

    1. Small backpack.

    2. Sturdy footwear with good grip.

    3. Food for the day.

    4. Suitable clothing for the weather (Always trousers rather than shorts - the ticks can be numerous in certain locations) inc. waterproofs.

    5. Light pair of gloves in the summer, as the midge may make an appearance if the wind drops.
